Piper Pengelly

Editor-in-Chief

Piper is a fifth and final year LLB(Hons) and Economics student at the University of Canterbury | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha. Piper has been involved in the Journal since its revival in 2023 as both a Style Editor and Managing Style Editor. Piper’s areas of interest are environmental law, administrative and public law, and economic policy.

Savannah Williams

Deputy Editor-in-Chief

Savannah is a fifth-year student at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington studying an LLB and BA majoring in Philosophy and minoring in International Relations. She currently works at Parliament and has been involved in environmental policy and regulatory work at other government agencies. Savannah was a Managing Editor – Citations for the 2024 edition of the NZLSJ and has previously done editorial work for the VUW Law Review and the NZ Law Reports. She has a particular interest in constitutional law, international environmental law and competition law.

Olivia Banfield

Secretary

Olivia is a fourth-year student at the University of Auckland – Waipapa Taumata Rau, studying toward an LLB(Hons). Olivia has a particular interest in civil litigation and legal history. She has also previously edited for the New Zealand Law Students’ Journal. 

Additionally, Olivia volunteers at Community Law. She interviews and advises clients on a diverse range of legal matters, the experience of which has been incredibly invaluable.

Sameer Mandhan

Treasurer

Sameer is a Judge’s Clerk at the Court of Appeal of New Zealand. He holds an LLB (Honours) degree from Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. He was previously the Treasurer of the Wellington Community Justice Project from 2021 until 2023. He has a particular interest in commercial litigation.

Juliana Vos

Publications Manager

Juliana is a third year student studying towards an LLB and BA, double majoring in French and Politics & International Relations at the University of Auckland. Outside of the journal, Juliana is an active member of AULSS’s Women in Law group, and is a volunteer for the alliance team on the Equal Justice Project. She has an interest in litigation, particularly in the field of human rights law and criminal law.

Evangelos Siatiras

Outreach Manager

Evangelos is a third-year student at the University of Auckland, studying toward an LLB/BCom. He has a special interest in dispute resolution and civil law.

Evangelos is the Co-President of the Public Policy Club, Auckland Uni’s only non-partisan politics club. Alongside this, he also interns at a government lobbying firm and serves as the Logistics Officer for the NZSLA 2025 Conference.
