Olivia Banfield
Editor-in-Chief
Olivia is in her final semester of an LLB(Hons) degree at the University of Auckland. Olivia has been involved with the Journal since 2023 in the roles of Editor, Secretary, and Publications Manager. She has also been a Citations Editor and Managing Editor for the University of Auckland Law Review. She has a particular interest in public and administrative law, legal history, and civil litigation.

Abby Wallace
Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Abby is an LLB(Hons)/BA (Politics and English) graduate from the University of Otago, and currently works as a Law Graduate at a corporate firm in Wellington. She served as a Style Editor for the Journal in 2024 and Managing Editor (Style) in 2025. Her interests include socio-legal studies, commercial litigation, and banking and financial law.

Oliver is a finalist LLB(Hons) candidate at the University Otago. Oliver has been involved with the Journal since 2024 and has participated in the position of Citations Editor and Managing Editor. Oliver has a particular interest in media law, criminal law and international law.

Grace Hogan
Secretary
Grace recently graduated from University of Canterbury with an LLB/BA in Strategic Communications and Māori and Indigenous Studies. Grace has worked as a Secretary for the past four years across a range of firms, from large-scale commercial practices to boutique firms. She has a particular interest in people-focused areas of law, including medical and health law, sports law, regulatory law, and litigation.

Nikita Sue
Publications Manager
Nikita is in her fourth year of an LLB(Hons) at the University of Waikato, Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato. She is the former Tauranga Convenor for the Waikato University Law Students’ Association and was a Student Editor for the Waikato Law Review. Outside of study, she is a Compliance Lead within the health and wellbeing industry, helping brands reach international markets. Nikita has a keen interest in commercial law, banking and finance law, and intellectual property law.

Najma Noor
Marketing & outreach Manager
Najma is in her third year of a conjoint BA/LLB degree at the University of Auckland, majoring in Politics and International Relations. She joined the NZLSJ team this year as the Marketing and Outreach Manager. Alongside her studies, Najma has worked as a law clerk and in research. Her legal interests include constitutional and public law, media law, and corporate law.
